Autocomplete for Non Friends Solution Not wokring

I used the bp-custom.php (define( ‘BP_MESSAGES_AUTOCOMPLETE_ALL’, true );) solution I found on here and it work for one day but stopped. Is there anything else I can do to help the autocomplete work with non friends. I want the users to be able to message each other easier than searching for user names.
And also don’t want to have them having to request each other’s as friends feature.
Please help…
