Avatars are Black after Crop

WP3.9 and BuddyPress 2 and Genesis 2 set up.

When I upload an avatar image is initially OK but after the crop it just displays as black.

    Any thoughts?

Without knowing anything about your set-up or if you’ve made any customisations, my thoughts are:

    • jCrop isn’t working properly
    • CSS might be causing the problem
    • Your theme might be causing the problem

Ok I just worked out it’s the theme as TwentyTwelve works perfectly, the theme I am using is a Genesis ChildTheme based on the framework – so I need to find out why..

It was CSS i had img.avatar set to an explicit width – once that was removed all the pieces fell into place!
