Avatars not working for any buddypress website..

i thought it was just with my website.. but when i came on here the avatar upload didn’t work either..

ok.. so here the deal. i click the ‘change avatar’ option.. then i click ‘browse’ then i find a image.. then click ‘open’… then ‘upload image’..

i then come to a screen that says ‘crop your new avatar’.. and underneath that it says “avatar to crop/avatar preview” and under that it says ‘crop image’.. so i click crop image.. then nothing.. a blank page..

*sigh*.. so whats up?

I just found gravatar.com.. hopefully that will help with my icon..?

oh.. i also can’t upload an avatar for groups??

Avatar uploads will be fixed In the next point release, due out very very soon.

In the meantime, you might be able to use avatars if you upload rectangular shaped images and crop at that point. At least that works on my BP installation.

This worked for me on my site
Go to “Settings” >> “Miscellaneous”
Clear “Store uploads in this folder”-path
Set “Full URL path to files” to absolute server path , e.g. “http://mysite.com/public_html/wp-content/uploads”

HOWEVER…
I still can’t upload my own avatar to buddypress.org !!
I just get the blank screen

When I try to upload a avatar on my profile for my website (blabitup.com), I’m given a question mark. How do I fix this?

Im currently using WordPressMU and I do not have a miscellaneous setting.
