Avatars served from subdomain issue

    Hey,

to allow browsers more then the regular count of request, i decided to outsource my images to a subdomain. I used a method as described here:

How to Serve Images from a Sub-Domain [WordPress]

Everything works fine and the loading time for post-archives and single-posts are much faster now. Also user-avatars are now served via subdomain, BUT the loading time for pages, which include more then 2-3 avatars (members-loop, bbpress reply-loop,…) is much longer now. Uploading new avatars works fine.

Error-log shows the following for every visited page, which includes avatars:
Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use ‘LimitInternalRecursion’ to increase the limit if necessary.

Is there an endless loop now? Did anyone have an idea, why dis happens and how i can fix it? Can i force Buddypress to serve the images from the regular wp-content-path (which is also accessible)? Could i test some changes at the bp_core_avatars.php?

Thanks a lot for any ideas, help and suggestions!
