Badges/awards/achievements/endorsements for member profile pages

  • I’ve been looking for a plugin that would come even remotely close to Groupsite’s endorse feature, without any luck so far. All I need is an admin controlled way to create a link, or graphical element to serve as a badge signifying one user endorsing another. The achievement related plugins I’ve seen are fun, but I’m looking for something more meaningful. For example, checking out a user’s profile and seeing a business administrator has endorsed them is like a gold star on a virtual resume. It has a bit more context and meaning to other users.

Paul’s achievements plugin looks promising, but I couldn’t get it to work. Rockhoist badges and ‘Badges’ didn’t work properly either. Any recommendations?

    +1

BuddyPress needs a recognition plugin. I’ve looked at most of them that attempt this and either they do not work or do not provide the recognition that would be usable in an organizational environment.

I am looking the same plugin here.
Tried Achievement but the hooks don’t work well with latest Buddypress

+1 from me too. A recognition plugin where members can invite friends to give them praise would be a fantastic feature.

+1 here too. I’d love to be able to be able to “praise” others especially since our site would be mainly for internal work purposes and it would be motivational and encouraging for non-techies as well if nothing else!
I’ve yet to try the various plugins but will be on my to-do list to test them when my site is near complete.

If I understand you correctly this could be easily achieved with the existing cubepoints plugin where one user gives +1 to another user

Hi everyone- Paul Gibbs’ plugin, ‘achievements’ has come along rather nicely. Since my original post, The UI is greatly improved and you can now create custom awards and grant them to users. You can put as much or as little detail as you want in them as well to signify what the award/achievement is for.

@Asynaptic- cubepoints sounds promising if you were running a commerce based site. Informational/social collaboration based WP/BP sites might not be an ideal fit for that plugin though IMHO.
