bbPress does not display chinese characters

I have posted some chinese and it displays fine in the activity stream but NOT when you display the forum

PLease help

I have looked in the config files for both bbpress and buddypress but the LANG default is blank

Any clues please

I will wait for something to happen I guess I will have to remove the forum….

is there a temporary way to fix this? I know how to make some changes in phpmyadmin, plz help, I need my chinese forum to run…
