Big problem: No access to the back-end after activation

Hi there, I have a huge problem i need help with.
I need to update WordPress to latest version (3.0.1) from Wp 2.9 I am running today. But i stumble in to some problems. This is what I’v done:

1. Deactivated all plugins, including Buddypress
2. Made an update to WordPress from 2.9 to 3.0.1

no problems so far.

3. Get a message to update Buddypress to 1.2.2.5
4. I do so, no problems
5. Activate Buddypress and get this message:

“You do not have sufficient permissions to enter this site”

After this it become impossible to reach the back-end.
Greatful for any help!

Rename the BP plugin to force deactivation of it which should allow access back to the dashboard.

Have a dislike of auto installers, you might need to upload BP plgin via ftp.

Is it possible to delete the Buddypress plugin and reinstall it or will I loose all my data when doing this?

No you won’t lose data, upgrading a plugin such as BP is best done by removing the old version first rather than overwritting files.

Well I have tried this and it don´t work.
I can visit the site but I can´t login to the administration even with a clean installation of Buddypress.

Please help me with this.

Am I suppose to do this after I have updated WordPress to 3.0 or before I update? Or should I do the update and activate BuddyPress then change the keys?

I tried it and it didn’t work out. BTW, the fix you provide is for the WPML plugin, not for BuddyPress, right?

Anyone knows any other possible solution?

There is another thread here describing almost the same issue with an other answer, maybe that can help you. Gökhan solution worked for me with the specification I got in my first post in this thread.
