Blank page when clicking blogs, members etc.

    Hello,

I tried looking in the forums for solutions but nothing seems to work.

I reinstalled a couple of times but I keep getting blank pages when I want to acces anything from the menu. I have the themes in the right place and activated AND root and wp-content are writable (777): but stil nothing.

    Th list then:

    1. Which version of WPMU are you running?

    2.8.3

    2. Did you install WPMU as a directory or subdomain install?

    directory

    3. If a directory install, is it in root or in a subdirectory?

    root

    4. Did you upgraded from a previous version of WPMU? If so, from which version?

    No

    5. Was WPMU functioning properly before installing/upgrading BuddyPress?

    Yes

    6. Which version of BuddyPress (BP) are you running?

    Latest 1.0.3

    7. Did you upgraded from a previous version of BP? If so, from which version?

    No

    8. Do you have any plugins other than BuddyPress installed and activated?

    No

    9. Are you using the standard BuddyPress themes or customized themes?

    Standard

    10. Have you modified the core files in any way?

    No

    11. Do you have any custom functions in bp-custom.php?

    Not That I know of

    12. If running bbPress, which version?

    Not running yet.

    13. Please provide a list of any errors in your server’s log files.

Don’t see errors just when clicking on a buddypress menu item it can’t seem to find /members or /blogs/.

I’ve been at it for a while now (like in a couple of weeks, whenever I find time) and it really annoys me that it won’t work. There have been like 2 upgradews of WMPU and one BP in the meantime. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?? Server is on apache and .htacces file is present.

    Greetings,

    Roy (Netherlands)

Have you enabled your htaccess file on your hosting control panel? https://www.servage.net/wiki/.htaccess_files

When browsing the forums I noticed similair problems with several (possible) sollutions. Isn’t it an idea to make a couple o sticky topics where failry common problems or bugs are being explained?

It’s a bit to much maybe, but al of the information about a problem like mine is scaterred now trough topics.

A lot of this sort of problem is WPMU or server misconfiguration. I’m not sure we ought to be providing any more help for that sort of problem other than we already are.

I’m also struggling the same white-page-bogey. All redirection are fine but points to an empty blogs.dir directory. I’m just going to upgrade my faith. Other users blogs and comments are at least in the databases and once I solve all the .htaccess; blogs.dir ownership issues., it will show up one day.

BTW there is a WP redirection plug-in (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/redirection/) that promises to overcome the .htaccess. Would it be a common cure for rest of us? Would anybody help us generate a list/file of redirections that can be uploaded there?

I’m sorry to see the top contributors helping us (lamers) with the server configuration.

Would anybody code a simple system check (list) plug in that would help us (others) to communicate the issues to our host admins? I believe the community would more appreciate you guys to help us all with bigger issues.
