Block Blog from Activity

How to Block a Blog or certain Blogs from appearing in Activity feed?
After trying for quite a while, and not finding any current working solution, I needed to post here.
BuddyPress Block Activity Stream Types – plugin doesn’t work, and required documentation linked to is non-existent.
I googled, and looked at BuddyPress Codex to try and work out some code, but couldn’t find any to do the job.
I need exclude a few blogs as their content is not related. Alternately, I may have to move them to another network…

    Any ideas?

Please clarify, you don’t want some blog (posts) from showing up in activity feed like example.com/activity/feed or block content generated from some subsites from showing up in the activity stream -> example.com/activity/ or both?

    Thankyou Mercime.
Its the activity stream -> example.com/activity/
I’m trying to stop ALL posts from certain blogs from appearing.

Easiest way is to go to wp-admin on the site you want to hide, go to the Settings > Reading menu, and tick the “Discourage search engines from indexing this site” option. Of course, this will also ask search engines to not index that site.

Thanks Paul, but not the solution.
The sites are fully functioning public access sites, just the content is not congruous with the subject matter of the network.
So I don’t need to change access to the sites, just stop them from appearing in Network Activity “/activity” page.

Not quite the answer to your query as it is supposed to be inserted into the blogs rather than the bp end. It appears to disallow posts filtered by certain categories or tags from being entered in the bp activity stream. Paul will know if it works with the current versions of bp and wp.

This link should have been included in the last post. https://buddypress.org/support/topic/possible-to-exclude-post-categories-in-activity-stream-and-make-a-user-profile-private-like-with-pri/

(Also buddypress-edit-activity-stream no longer working on https://buddypress.org/support/ – by design ???)

Is there no way to totally exclude content from “Activity” by blog_id or even by user_id ?

@mercime thankyou for that, looks very hopeful.

This will be possible in 1.7?
Will still need a plugin to do the job, or just a few added functions/filters in /wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php ??
Looks great, but I’m not sure exactly how to implement.
