If I recall correctly the BP-FB Connect plugin hasn’t been upgraded for BP 1.2 yet and isn’t compatible.
I got it up an running on an MU installation, but it’s a bit quirky, because you have to use the Log Out link in the Dashboard to log out of FB — not the one in BP. Might be worth a try using the current plugin and see if it’ll work for you.
I had it working on my site….. but then it suddenly stopped showing the login button in IE and on firefox it would pop up the authentication login and open the page in the iframe window instead of closing the authentication iframe and refreshing the home page. any ideas?

That works for me with a couple of isssues. The first user to log in via fbconnect is assigned the name “@facebookuser”, later signups seem to use the fb name for the @mention id, but their displayed name can be changed in the BP profile. The fb profile picture is skewed in the activity feed (twice as long as high).
