BuddyPress.org

Hi everyone,

I know this topic has been posted to death, but I have gone through all of those old posts and tried all of their fixes and none of them are working.

Basically, BuddyPress works fine except for allowing new users to register. When the registration form is submitted, the page refreshes with all data but the password autofilled in the appropriate fields. No user is created, but no error is given. I have double checked that registration is open on the site and that BuddyPress registration and activation pages are set up correctly. I have also tried clearing my browser cache etc.

Interestingly, the BuddyPress Default Data plugin was able to create users without a hitch.

I’m working on a custom theme on a local XAMPP server with BuddyPress, Advanced Custom Fields Pro, Custom Post Type UI and BuddPress Default Data being the only plugins installed. I’ve tried deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress, and the problem persists. When I deactivate BuddyPress, the problem goes away. I’ve also tried using TwentyTwelve instead of my custom theme and the problem persists when BuddyPress is active.

I have updated to the latest version of BuddyPress (released earlier today, 2.3.0) and that has not fixed it, but the issue was also present before I updated BP. I am running WordPress 4.2.2.

If anyone else has had this problem lately or sees anything obvious that I am missing, I’d appreciate your help!
