bp_notifications_bulk_management_dropdown not working

Hi,
On the Activity page I have the template listing all the notifications and there is bulk select checkbox. The associated function bp_notifications_bulk_management_dropdown creates a dropdown (that does not display per default). The dropdown gives “Mark Read” and “Delete” options but it does not actually affect the notifications. How can we get the Bulk Actions to work on the site properly?
