Buddypress 1.2 Default Theme. How to add tagline?

I am using the BP 1.2 Default Theme (via a child folder). Only the blog Title shows at the moment. What code do I need to add, and where should I put it, to show the tagline as well as the title?

Add the following line to your header.php:

<?php bloginfo(‘description’); ?>
