BuddyPress 1.7.2 Arabic groups direct links lead to 404

hello guys,
i have a strange issue where link to groups around the site work fine, but as soon as i copy the link of the group and paste it in a new browser window, i get a 404
for example if you go to http://www.gametako.com/%D9%85%D8%AC%D9%85%D9%88%D8%B9%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%85%D8%B7%D9%88%D8%B1%D9%8A%D9%86 it will give you an empty page, but if you click on the groups link on the top of the page (where its the same link btw) it will take you to the groups page.
its really confusing and I have no way of approaching on how to debug this. any ideas?
