BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 now available for testing

    Hi all,

    This is to announce that BuddyPress 3.0 Beta2 is now out for testing. it’s available for download at: https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/buddypress.3.0.0-beta2.zip

    The major change is that BuddyPress now comes with two templates – BP-Legacy and the new BP-Nouveau. You can switch to the new template by going to Dashboard>>Settings>>BuddyPress>>Options and selecting the theme option there.

    BP Nouveau comes with extensive Customizer controls for the layout of the BuddyPress pages, it’s well worth a look.

    For those of you with Template overloads in place I have created BP Template Overloader to help you manage any potential migrations. With the updated BP installed it allows you to inspect, compare and reorganise your template overloads so is ideal to have at this time.

    This latest version of BP is pretty rocksolid from my own testing so don’t be weary of trying it for yourself. Obviously it’s not ready for live sites, but will be soon.

    Hey. https://buddypress.org/blog/ top article seems to be confused about whether it’s about b2 or b1. Titles says b2, all content and links seem to point to b1.

    Hi guys been hoping for tabbed content so very pleased. Have set all to tabs no columns but when click the Profile tab get a column and :

    โ€“ โ€˜Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_nouveau_xprofile_hook() in /home/content/00/5400100/html/pomm4/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-templates/bp-nouveau/buddypress/members/single/profile.php on line 17โ€™

    What did I break? ๐Ÿ™‚

    @venutius

    That function resides in the bp-templates/bp-nouveau/includes/xprofile/template-tags.php file.

    You could check it’s there? otherwise I don’t suppose you are doing something fancy with template overloads that might stop that file from being loaded?

    Not using overloads no. Using it here in development. The file is there yes.

    Only fails with the new templates is fine with the Legacy.
