Buddypress and sliders

I had buddypress installed and bbpress. I updated to this version so that i wouldn’t have to use the tempate pack any more. Before installation i deleted buddypress and buddypress template pack. I then unzipped and uploaded the file to the plugin folder. In the wordpress backend i activated the plugin. It seems to be working but for 2 things. The register page css is messed up and doesn’t cover the whole page. That isn’t as important though. My slider has stopped working. (this is the same thing that happened with the template pack which is why i was upgrading) can anyone tell me why this is happening? or better yet, how to fix it?

@redknite,

don’t know this theme. Provide a valid link to it. Also version #

If it’s a premium one do nothing. We can’t help here in this case. Ask the author or call the support included in your purchase.

its a custom theme. The theme isn’t the problem though. Buddy press is stopping the slider. When I do a search for this problem it comes up all over that buddypress is stopping slider images because it’s overwriting js. I haven’t found a solution to this issue…can you help with that?

there is an js error on one of the image. I gues one of the static pictures at the right of the slider. FF doesn’t see it, but IE 9 does.

Both browser says there is an error, but i’m unaible to locate it. Image corrupt or truncated: http://<unknow>.com

Check also the slider settings for any auto-resize value and deactivate it. Such errors are also mainly due to image that are not correctly built by a software (photoshop, etc)

Deactivate all your plugins and use only WP, BP, your slider and bp-default and see if it works.
Reset also your permalinks (just by saving again the settings).

Also, be aware that WP polls 2.3 is only given to be used up to WP 3.3

And if you use BP 1.7b2, use bbPress 2.3b2 it’s much better.

Thanks for the reply. You noticed what I did, it appears to be a js problem. I have deactivated all my plugins except the buddpress. (my regular slider is a custom slider: not a plugin) and still i get the error. If i active a slider plugin, that slider doesn’t work either. No other plugins are causing this error. If i activate all other plugins and leave buddypress off both the sliders work.

I’ve looked online and see a lot of people are having this problem, but there has been no solutions posted that I have found.

I appreciate your help though, are there any other ideas you think might work?

I updated my bbpress to the 2.3rc1 too. Thanks for the heads up.

Lastly, do you have suggestion for a different poll program?
