I have a quick question. From a technical point of view are buddypress themes the same as normal wordpress themes? In this sense can I take an existing wordpress theme framework and adapt it directly to wordpress MU and therefore make it work with Buddypress.

The reason I ask is because I am playing with the Hybrid theme framework for WordPress and was wondering if I can use this theme framework directly on WPMU and therefore Buddypress.

Yes. But any wordpress theme used on a buddypress site will have to include extra files that come with the BP theme. I.e copy them.

Or with BuddyPress1.1, inherit them from a parent theme, and CSS your way out of that bag. :)

Aye, depends on what shape bag you’re looking to use:)
