Buddypress features in MU sites (blogs)

I’m wanting to build a network of sites where each of the sites has the features of Buddypress. In otherwords the root site would run Buddypress and the WordPress MU sites (blogs) would also have the Buddypress features for themselves (forums, groups, members, etc.). Is this possible?

Not by default. One instance of BuddyPress covers single multisite installation.

There’s http://wpmututorials.com/news/new-features/multiple-buddypress-social-networks/
where you would have to create a network of multisite installations first. Check it out.
