BuddyPress not sending out confirmation email

When a user registers, the email to finish the process never is sent. I’ve tried the ‘usual suspects’ of checking my bulk folders, etc. Doesn’t do anything. I don’t have any extra email plugins installed, just BuddyPress and some other stuff on my site. Help! I’d love to use this plugin!
