Buddypress notifications

Hello,

Can you help me understand how the notifications work with buddypress? I have some forums that were created through buddypress groups. When someone posts a new topic or a reply to a topic, should I receive a notification? (Not an email – I’m using buddyboss theme which has this notification icon: https://imgur.com/a/2lU75) Is there a setting to turn on to receive these notifications for forum activity? Or do I need some other plugin? Or does it sound like something is broken on my site? I don’t understand how this is supposed to work to know how to troubleshoot it.

After testing more, the forums are working, but the Group activity is not. For example, I have a Group, and when someone posts a status update within the group, I don’t get a notification. Should I? If not, is there a way to turn that on?

Hi Cassihl,

you should take a look at the menu “Emails” where you can put a emailnotification for every various activity.

However, I haven’t solved your question myself and are looking to do this also. I wonder that this is not a basic notification-posibility, but perhaps you have found the solution already? Please inform me in that case.

@bizzibi @cassihl If you are only looking for BP notification only not as email for new topics, you can try

For bbPres email notification, you can check

bbPress Notify (No Spam)
