Buddypress pages suddenly blanko

    Hi guys,

No idea what occurred. I registered a dummy login last week, edited profile etc and all was fine – today buddypress showing blank pages on front end. Settings pages show no problem.

I’m using Salutation theme. I have deleted and reinstalled buddypress and updated wordpress, disabled/ enabled all plugins to no avail.
I run S2 member but same issue whether it is activated or not, and it hasn’t posed a problem in the past.
Have added to memory limit – no change
Installed WP super cache – no change

One odd thing I’ve noticed – when buddypress is activated the gravatars don’t load. Deactivate buddypress and they work again. My site is : http://www.thelearningnetwork.asia. Any help much appreciated.

    Help please when you can.
    Gar

    go to permalink in settings.
Press on the structure you want/have already. And press save.

    That works for me

Thanks ossendryver but no joy with your suggestion here.

Get rid of the WP super cache plugin. It just introduces problems that buddypress is not equipped to handle.

Cheers drill_sgt.lewis, however I installed WP super cache plugin after the problem first occurred. It is no longer installed and problem continues…

what plugins do you have installed? Have you used the buddypress template pack plugin? If so I believe this theme is already buddypress compatible so if you have it installed it may cause a conflict. List your plugins please.

I was using the buddypress that installed with the theme up until last night when I uninstalled and reinstalled buddypress 1.6.1 due to this issue. I have not installed the buddypress template pack plugin.

    installed and active:
    BM Custom Login
    BP Advanced SEO
    BP Xtra Signup
    BuddyPress
    Mail From
    s2Member® Framework
    VM Backups
    WordPress Importer

    deactivated:
    Akismet
    Email Log
    Floating Social Media Icon
Google News Sitemap Feed With Multisite Support

I do not want to speculate so if I was you I would deactivate each plugin one at a time and create a test user for registration after each plugin is deactivated until you find the one that is bugging you down. Its worth the time to track it down then report it back to the plugin author so they are aware of the issue.

thanks for your assistance drill_sgt. I had done that already – with just buddypress active the pages remain blank.
The odd thing I’ve noticed that I mentioned above – when buddypress is activated the gravatars don’t load. Deactivate buddypress and they work again. I understand from reading other threads that this may be an existing issue with gravatars and wordpress/ buddypress but I didn’t notice before this problem kicked in.

Have you made sure the buddypress pages have been actively associated with the links? Have you created a custom menu in the dashboard? If the pages are not associated with these then you will get a page not found error.

I have a custom menu but created long ago. In buddypress settings the component directories are set to active pages for activity streams, discussion forums, user groups and members.

Problem extends beyond this to main buddypress menu at top right of screen where profile edit etc are all blank too (not 404 page not found though). I have an active members widget in a sidebar which does actually work so i agree that it seems like a links issue – but the correct page URL displays when links are clicked.

I really appreciate your assistance drill-sgt.lewis, and sorry for wasting your time ;/ . It was a theme issue – I can’t isolate exactly what had done it, but the default layout for buddypress pages had been changed and was resulting in blank pages.
