!! BuddyPress Theme Folder Changes !!

  • @apeatling

    Keymaster

Just a heads up – in the latest trunk r1211+ the folder name for BuddyPress themes has changed.

    OLD:

    /wp-content/member-themes

    NEW:

    /wp-content/bp-themes

Member themes was confusing, as BuddyPress themes control more than just the member profile. It also brings it into line with the naming convention for plugins. If you upgrade to 1211+ then you should be able to simply rename the folder. There were no actual theme changes.

    Ok It works now :)

I think that member-themes wasn’t confusing, anyway bp-themes is better

Nice move Andy. I had a hard time getting my head around the purpose of Member Themes, and after reading Using the BuddyPress Themes on the Codex and now this change has been made, it makes more sense.

The readme in the trunk hasn’t been updated to reflect this change, just FYI.

Andy can’t update the readme because it would change the readme in the download RC1 package. Something like that. He explained it. I got that out of the explanation Bloom.
