BuddyPress User Log-In redirects to WP-Log-In and give error.

Hello,
When a user activates their buddypress account and tries to login to my buddypress site. When they click login it takes them to the WP-LogIn page and give error message (ERROR: Invalid username)
Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix this issue. I dont want my users to have to log into buddypress and also wp.
I am a newbie and would like for my members to register once for my buddypress page.Thank You for any help.
