BUG: Password in member settings

    I’ve tryed on a fresh wp 4.8 and BP 2.8.2, to see if was on the core, and it seems to be there.

    On a new user, if I go to settings and try to set a new password with just a \ or 2 or 3 \ it doesn’t accept it and answers the 2 new password don’t match also if they do.
    I had also problems with other characters.

    It may be a problem in escapingo or sanitizing it? Is it sanitized?

    Can you give a literal example of a password that fails, are you suggesting “just a /” or single digit password?

    Thanks for the answer!
    I tried a password like
    \|!ӣ$%&/()=
    but discovered that it fails just on
    \
    \\
    or \\\
