Build a social network where users contribute to a massive pool of content…

On youtube, users register, and then upload a video to a massive pool of videos, and then you can search and find videos, view related videos while watching videos, categorize your videos, post comments on videos, ect…

Is it possible to use BuddyPress to build a social network that has the same ‘skeleton’ or ‘structure’ as YouTube, but instead of users uploading videos, they contribute something else?

how could i set up BuddyPress so that everyone is contributing to one massive pool of content? should i use forums?

@bluestrat55555 if your only requirement is that users can contribute to “one masssive pool of content” then you don’t even need BuddyPress. Just enable registration for a single WP site and set roles to Contributors (if you want to moderate what get’s posted/uploaded) or Authors (can publish anything, anytime). Users can post from wp-admin or find a WP plugin for front-end posting/uploading.
