Call to undefined function bp_is_blog_page()

This keeps coming up when my users click the activation link in their email. I am using the Theamatic theme as a parent them and have followed the instructions here http://codex.buddypress.org/how-to-guides/upgrading-a-buddypress-1-0-theme-for-buddypress-1-1/ but it still keeps saying this. I’m in WPMU 2.8.5 and Buddypress 1.1.2, can someone solve this please it’s doing my head in?
