Can activate Buddypress Widget Theme but columns won't show up

Downloaded and uploaded WP. Configured wp-config file properly to find my database. Installed BP. Changed my permalinks. Installed BP Widget Theme. Activated the theme. Set up my widgets in the appropriate columns and sidebar. When I go to View Site, I see the default theme, no columns, no widgets. Please advise.

You have to create a page in the admin and choose the widget page template for that page. If you have latest version you have two page template options.

If wordpress theme repo would allow I would include screen shots and a better how to. They don’t give us the same repo as plugins.
