Can I install BBpress first and then Buddypress later

Hi guys,

If I want the forums functionality now, but the rest of the BP parts later, what would be the best option?

a) Install BuddyPress and only enable BBpress
b) Install BBpress as a standalone plugin now and BP later?

Will b) offer any performance advantages or any problems later on?
