Can write to db?

I’m running WPMU 2.9.1 with BP 1.2. I upgraded yesterday from the latest 1.1.x. My site was working fine before the upgrade and I thought all went well, but it seems that nobody can write on the Wire, no group can be created, etc. For example, if I go to create a group, I enter Group Title and Description and hit Next button the page just refreshes and I’m back on the same page. It appears that it is not writing to the db? Another example is when I go to write on a Group Wire, when I submit I get the following BP message: “There was a problem posting your update, please try again.”
I think the fact that I’m running on a Windows08 server, and perhaps permissions are not properly set might have something to do with it, but I’m really hoping for some suggestions on where to look or trouble-shoot?

Also, FYI – I originally performed the BP upgrade directly on the server. Just as a test I used the WPMU admin interface and deleted BP, and re-installed again to see if this might solve something, but didn’t do anything. The install process seems fine, and I obtain no errors, and site displays fine, but I update anything BP-wise?
