Cannot see a profile page on front end

Using WP 4.1, bbpress 2.5.4, buddypress2.2.1, Hueman Theme.

I have tested this in 5 different themes and I get the same result. They all say they work with buddypress. There is no profile page at all. When you click on a member all that comes up is a blank page. The only thing showing are comments when I make a comment. In fact there is no option at all to even show a profile page when you install buddypress. You get the screen when you sign up that lets you make a profile but there is nothing that gives you the option to even display the profile information of the user on a page. So when you go to the front end and click on the user it is no wonder that there is no page to show for the user profile because one is not even created on the initial setup of the plugin. This is basic information people expect to see when they click on a profile. Why is there no page setup to show the profile information? I have deactivated every plugin and started from scratch several times with different themes. This should be the very first issue people should be bringing up about this plugin. I don’t understand why this is not a #1 topic in this forum. Is there a solution to this problem?

The Plug in creates pages for:

    MEMBERS
    ACTIVITY STREAMS
    USER GROUPS
    REGISTER
    ACTIVATE

Nothing for member profiles. There needs to be a main profile page. There is none.

    @vikingpoker
You do that from the backend. https://codex.buddypress.org/administrator-guide/extended-profiles/

    hi @vikingpoker,

I’m sorry to hear that BuddyPress has upset you.
Members are the heart of BuddyPress and the plugin comes with anything necessary to let you manage them.

We might be able to help, would you please let us know exactly which components you activated during the BP setup ?

BuddyPress use the WordPress page system for internal purpose only. Content is shown dynamically, depending the context. When you click on a username, BP calls the pre defined member page and use the appropriate template to show the profile.

BuddyPress has also his own menu, on which you’ll find activity, members, groups so far you have activate the respective component. To access this menu, go to dashboard > appearence > menu. If you don’t see it, go to the top right corner of the screen and open the sceen option, and check “buddypress”.

You’re using a framework theme, which is not the easiest to handle if you have not much experience with WP theing. I tested it a while ago and can understand your disapointment. You may probably find good advice about BuddyPress on the Hueman support forum.

I would recommend you to use 2015 or 14 theme during the time you familiarize yourself with BuddyPress.

I invite you to read also the Codex to start with your BuddyPress.

Oh, and if you don’t understand why this is not a #1 topic in this forum, it’s probably because a large majority of user haven’t this issue. And discover here all what you can do with BuddyPress. 😉

I know this is done from the back end. I think you didn’t read everything but the one line that you quoted of mine. I know how to build the extended profile. That is not the issue I am having.

The issue I am having is that all of that extended profile information does not display anywhere. There is no page that shows anything about any of that profile information when you click on the a users profile. I don’t understand how this is so difficult.

When I click on a user from the front end, why does their extended profile information not display? That is all I want to know. Everything else works fine.

goto my website and click on my name. Tell me what you see. http://www.new.stonemagegames.com

Dont you think it might be an issue with the theme, you are all alone with this problem so it is not a Buddypress fail, obviously.

A quick search on google shows lts of issues with hueman theme, especially interesting is the need for some “if” calls cause perhaps the theme only uses the single.php template.

Do you have he entire buddypress template folder copied to your theme root?
