Cannot turn off “user editing ability” for profile fields on registration form

On the BuddyPress registration form on my site, all the profile fields allow the users to change ‘visibility’, i.e. users can change who can see these values. But in the WP Admin profile fields, I selected ‘enforce field visibility’ for all of them. So I’m not sure whey the option still shows up.

    See screenshots here please: http://www.helloenglish.vn/url-pictures/

    Any advice?

    BuddyPress Version 2.4.0
    Wordpress 4.4

    Thanks.

    Hi,

on your picture, i read under page title “Edit field”, the message “Page cache successfully emptied”.
Clear first, than deactivate your page cache before doing such modification.

I guess it could be possible that you did some changes but the cached page was not updated on frontend.

Other thing you could try is to set the field visibility for “members only” instead of “everyone”, then enforce field visibility.

    1. I only installed a caching plugin a few days ago. The fields issue has been around before.

    2. After your post, I emptied all caches of the caching program (W3 Total Cache), deactivated the caching program. Then changed the fields to “members” and “enforce field visibility”.

    Nothing has changed 🙁

    Any other ideas?

Have you tested with a twenty theme ?

I just upgraded to Worpress 4.4.1 and installed Twenty Sixteen theme. Same result.
