Can’t Register as a new user on a new installation

    Hi

This is my first BuddyPress site, http://club.consciousvibe.co.za and I’m having trouble creating a new user account.

After I enter all my details in:

    http://club.consciousvibe.co.za/register

    and click submit.

The site reverts back to the page, the text:

    “Please check your email address”

appears above a red background and:

    I’m asked to

    “Please check your email address.”

But I never get any email, and a user is not created in the backend either. Can you tell me what my error is or where I’ve overlooked something?

Just a guess, but it doesn’t accept the email address you are providing. What is the format of the email address user@somewere.com?

It also validates the domain for your email address. If it isn’t a valid domain it generates that error. It checks DNS.

Thanks for your response Burtadsit, but I’m using a valid email address?

I see you are over at the wpmu forums asking this question also. That would be the proper place to start. It doesn’t look like a bp issue since your site isn’t running bp..

wpmu does go out and try to validate the domain. It doesn’t look like it is able to do so.

My site was a buddypress then I tried to see if it was a buddypress problem and so started from scratch.

I still don’t have an answer, I can’t figure out why it doesn’t validate the domains or even how to go about fixing the problem.

Any light you may share on the issue would be greatly appreciated as this will impact my eventual buddypress site too :)
