Is it displaying an error message? How about if you try to unset this from the Users list instead of the extended profile page?

Thank you for answering me. I tried on user and on the extended profile. nothing works. He is currently as an administrator and I can’t get him to change to buddy press as a subscriber. That partially explains your issue as you shouldn’t be able to mark an administrator as a spammer, you could take a backup of your database and change the user_status of the user from 1 to 0. I don’t know if other fields need to be changed and I’m no expert in this area so you do this at your own risk.
