Change the username nomenclature

  • Hi,

I am working on a website based on WordPress and Buddypress.
And the nomenclature for the usernames and logins users are like that : “12uio98j12lkhj98juj786gujg2”. But I want to have the right username or login in the database to have a nice directory member name (www.myweb.com/members/login/ and not http://www.myweb.com/members/12uio98j12lkhj98juj786gujg2/).

Do you know how to fix that ?

Thanks and sorry for my English !

@lp_axex76 Your English is fine (better than mine and English is my first language. lol) Though, i’m having trouble grasping what you mean… (it’s possible that i’m reading it wrong, so could you clarify what you mean?)

The default structure for members profiles is “http://example.com/members/bob/” (assuming your username is ‘bob’)

The only time it should be “/members/12uio98j12lkhj98juj786gujg2/” is when their username is “12uio98j12lkhj98juj786gujg2”

Did you have a specific question? Something like “How can i make usernames force use of dictionary words only, or… how do i remove digits from usernames”

Yes, my structure is “http://example.com/members/username/” but in my database, the usernames are formats like this “12uio98j12lkhj98juj786gujg2? (if its “bob”) and I want that its “bob” in my database. I don’t find where the usernames are convert like this… :/
