Changing Page Titles On The Page

Hi, I’ve been using WP.com for years but just now got my first taste of WP.org and while I’m loving it, I’m having some issues I can’t seem to find the answer to. I did a search here but couldn’t find anything, and I think it might be because I’m not entirely sure what it is I’m looking for.

I do know WHAT I’m looking for, just not sure what the name is. Here’s my problem. You know how each page has the name of the page under the header and above the page’s content? Typically you can click it to refresh the page. Like “Home” or “About” or whatever.

I activated BuddyPress and on the Activity page it says SITE-WIDE ACTIVITY on it, and I want to change that. I activated an SEO and it worked for every page but the BuddyPress pages. So now my site has, in the titles, the site name/page name on every page except BP, which is page name/site name, and I can’t figure out how to change the SITE-WIDE ACTIVITY.

Any help would be so greatly appreciated!

    I’m using WP 4.3.1 and BP 2.4.0.

Oh, I’m also having issues with changing the font color on bbPress 2.5.8, but I wasn’t sure if I should ask about that here or not.

Nothing? Can anybody at least point me in the right direction? I’ve tried searching pages and adding plugins and I can’t figure out how to get rid of this.

This post may help you with this: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/swap-out-the-buddypress-page-title-with-the-wordpress-page-tile/

I have no idea if BP is going to make this easier in the future to change these things dashboard backend or not – I have made some posts about this a time or two around here – but bp pages, their displayed on screen titled, and the meta titles have been a mess for a long time. Unless you know php and are willing to dig deep through documentation that is disorganized and possible outdated, there is no easy way of handling these issues.

I used to do PHP but that was many years ago. I’ve thought about catching myself up on it, and figuring out CSS as well, which would definitely make this whole venture much easier. Thanks for the response, and I’ll definitely check that link out!

I downloaded poedit and read through some things but I wasn’t finding folders or files they were telling me to find, so I gave up. I’ll go back to it later when I’ve had more sleep. Thanks again.

Amazingly I just now found kinda what I was looking for. It’s called Toggle The Title. While it isn’t working for bbpress, it does work on every other page including BuddyPress. So that’s good. I just can’t believe I didn’t find this sooner. Anyway, it works. Now if I could just figure out how to get bbpress working the way I want it, I’ll be good to go.
