Changing page titles with language file

Hello,

I’ve successfully created language files to manipulate labels, message, etc.

Everything works well, except for Page Titles. Specifically, I wish to change the text of the ‘Members Directory’ page.

It’s possible that I haven’t found and manipulated the correct text in the .po file. Does anyone have experience with locating the page titles, specifically the ‘Members Directory’ page title?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi @rgrober,

if you use poEdit, search for Members and you’ll find an string commented [component directory title]. This is the string for member page title. His ID is 584

or open .po file with Notepad++, and the string is line 2968. Do your change. Save. Open the po with poEdit – do nothing but save, to generate a new mo file. That’s it !

@danbp, I located the line and changed it, but nothing changed on my site.

You’ve been very generous with your help, but if you have any other suggestions, I’m all ears!

Are you sure that the mo file contains you’re change ? If yes, save po/mo in a safe place, then remove po/mo from live site and ensure your site comes in english (default).

– Reload buddypress_xx_XX.mo to wp-content/languages/plugins/buddypress-xx_XX.mo

Aside, which language are you using ?

@danbp, I did double-check that the mo file contains the change, as I tend to make mistakes like this frequently.

I’m using english.

I’ve done quite a bit of research on this, and I can’t seem to find a solution.
