Chat feature included out of the box?

Does BuddyPress include a chat feature right out of the box? If not, point me to a good plugin that gives you chat functionality. (think facebook-style.)

No, it doesn’t.

Some have had success with the latest release of CometChat – http://www.cometchat.com/ – which is quite close to FB’s footer chat.
