Checking Profile Fields during registration

    Hi, is it possibile to verify a certain Custon Profile Field during registration and block the registration if that is already entered?
    I mean, I have the custom field CITY that is textbox type, and a user register with LONDON. Is there a way to block other user registration that sets CITY parameter as LONDON without a lookup on database or I would have to put in register.php something that makes the lookup and manage that?If yes.. How?
    I do not quite understand all the operation in register.php

    I have the latest buddypress and WordPresso 3.80

    I’m pretty sure you’ll need to do a database lookup to check if someone else already filled out that value. Not sure on the specific technique to do it off hand.

    Thanks for the anwser.
    I hope that someone may have a clearer view about this. If I have to check wp_users or wp_bp_xprofile, where and when without messing the registration process between BP and WP.
