Child theme notification problem

Hi,
I am having exactly the same problem as here : http://buddypress.org/support/topic/buddypress-1-9-bp-default-theme-or-child-themes-notifications/

I downloaded the latest version of buddypress, but I am still having a double buddybar when I click on “Notifications” .

I need to :
-Deactivate the new notification component and use an alternative solution.
OR
-Find and fix the bug .

Any suggestions ?
