[Resolved] Comments & New Members don’t appear in stream

    Hi all,

    I just started to use BuddyPress and I LOVE it.

    I just have one small problem on my website. New posts appear in the stream, new friendships also… but new members and new comments don’t!

    If I check the commenters profile page the comment-update is there, but in the stream on the homepage: nothing.

    I tried the Twenty Twelve theme, same problem.
    I disables all plugins, same problem.

    WP Version: 4.4.2
    BP Version: 2.4.3

    I see the comment does in fact appear in the stream, below the original post (made 2,5 hours ago).

    Is it possible to place these kind of updates on top of the stream?

    Hi,

    normally you have a filter upon the activity stream so you can sort it by different activities. By default, a stream use “anything”.

    Settings > BuddyPress > Settings -> Activity Settings and make sure that “Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts” is checked. And also “Allow search engines”.

    While testing, i recommand that you use one of Twenty’s theme first. Just in case of… 😉

    Hello,

    The ‘Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts’ is checked!

    The funny thing is, if I select ‘comments’ on the activity stream filter, I can see the comment update… if I select ‘anything’ I don’t see it! (Well I do, but I need to scroll all the way down to the blog post, as you can see here).

    Ahh I see, ‘Allow activity stream commenting on blog and forum posts’ needs to be unchecked

    I don’t get it, but… solved 🙂
