@askwpcoach looks like you’re using a custom theme which might need to be updated. Change to bp-default theme and check if issue is resolved.

@mepierce53 could entirely be a different issue. Could be the image plugin or a custom theme, etc.

I’ve run into the issue myself. It seems to have something to do with the activity-loop.php function. When enabling the external JS/AJAX I get some compatibility on my custom theme. For whatever reason If i want to comment on a post it will redirect me to “activity/reply/” with 404 error. Could it be a permalink function or does the custom theme need some JS/Ajax to make it work?

I too have the same issue. I have Buddypress 1.5.3, WP 3.3.1 and BP Social 1.2.4. When we reply in the activity stream it gives me error 404.

Anyone tried to update BP to 2.5.4 to see if it resolves the issue? Is it theme related? How can I fix this? It’s crippling my user’s willingness to use the site: we rely on replies and comments to build common knowledge on projects !!!

It seems that the global.js, at ilne 366 ” `target.addClass(‘loading’).prop(‘disabled’, true);”` poses problem… anyone with programming knowledge can help me figure this out. My Firebug says that that line is not a function…

    Any news on this???

    Same problem! help please!

@dawnna @abhayjeet WP/BP versions? Theme used? Plugins used? Single WP or Multisite? Error logs?

@mercime ermm I’m using twenty eleven latest and buddy press latest stable release as well. Initially i thought the problem was because JQuery and AJAX was not being called properly in the website and tried to do it manually by calling up the files in the header but with no success. Then as a resort I had to use a new theme from scratch, use compatibility tool to make it all work without modifications to my new website, created child theme to that it looks okay and then copied everything from my old website onto new. Please see. http:// pianocouture2.iclsoftech.com for the version that works. Thanks for all your help :)
