Components Page Settings Disappeared

I run a WordPress Multisite Network with Buddypress Activated Network Wide.
Everything has been running fine for months until I logged into the Admin panel the other day and got the header message: The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activity Streams, Site Tracking, Members, Activate, Register. Repair”.

This usually occurs right at setup. All of my pages are published properly, yet I don’t even have a chance to select a page as the drop down select box is missing.

I was running Buddypress 1.5 and moved to 1.5.4 to see if it would solve, but no luck, will revert back.

Looking into further, I noticed my entire wp_posts table has been purged. Problem solved, but for what reason is up to me to go through logs and see what has happened.

Wow, that’s not good. Hope you had a good backup. Let us know if your investigations point anything towards BuddyPress.

This is very similar in vein to another post I recall vaguely, there may well be a critical problem not come to light before, but purging of tables is extremely serious so as Paul says please update this post or open trac ticket if you are fairly sure there is a critical bug with as much detail as possible and list/check any plugins you have running that could possibly be a cause.

I too have definitely had occasion on test installs where pages have mysteriously unlinked themselves but it’s very difficult to construct steps to replicate the issue or pin it down.

I’m 110% certain the cause will not be BuddyPress, simply because we never remove any content from it. Further speculation is baseless at this point.
