Configuring a publicly-viewable group with controlled membership

    How would I configure a publicly-viewable group with controlled membership? That particular option isn’t available in the troika of group permission settings, so I believe I’m looking for a plug-in to:

    – Add approval workflow for membership in a public group
    – Add public viewing to a private group
    – Something else?

    TIA for any tips you might have.
