Considering Buddypress – Seeking feedback!

    Greetings,

    I have a blog at http://www.padosa.com . This blog is new – been live about 6 weeks. I found buddypress as I was looking for ways to make the site better for social networking / community building. Right now I am on WordPress using vbulletin for registration and forum.

    I understand the many benefits of going to Buddypress. What are the drawbacks of switching to this and WP MU? My understanding so far is:

    – new software

    – some plugins wont work

    – smaller support community

    I am curious for your feedback – all advise on switching including pros and cons would be most appreciated. Thanks!

    Eric

    @westpointer

    Are you using the vbulletin bridge for WordPress?

    One quick comment – vb is a much more feature rich forum than bbpress. But, tools have been created to nicely integrate bbpress with buddypress groups. So, you’ll need to figure out how to handle the forums. If most of your traffic will be coming from the forums, you may want to look more closely at vb’s social networking tools.

    Thanks for the comment. Yes, I am using vbulletin bridge for WP.

    Any other pros or cons to Buddypress? Curious for all feedback!
