Create a page with blog posts via rss for users

Hi there, I am in the process of preparing my new site, so it’s not actually up and running yet. I would like to clarify a few things before I discover I possibly can’t do what I would like.
In essence it’s a community site for authors, readers and publishers, with groups, etc. I also wish to have a listing library (authors can add their books – covers and other required information) and a review site.
What I would like to do is create a page on the site where users (authors) can have a snippet from their latest blog posts displayed (multiple rss feeds updating automatically with latest content). Most of them have their own blogs, so setting up the site for individual blogs would be a waste of time, so it would have to be the rss feed route. Also, I want this to display on a page (let’s call it Author Blog Roll) and from there update the activity stream.
Is this possible? Could you recommend a plugin that would make this happen or will I need to approach a developer to create this?
I would greatly appreciate your input. I have been on Google for hours and am no closer to finding an answer.
