Hello,

Very much a newbie here. More I look into things the more I’m confused.

I want to create a forum centered community that will have a little e-commerce (selling space to vendors who are active/support that community and maybe selling branded shirts, hats, etc).

Is it better to start with BuddyPress and then add a forum using bbPress or create the website / forum on WordPress using bbPress and then add the BuddyPress plugin?

I’ve already created a WordPress site with a very basic forum. I encountered some minor problems (receiving error / couldn’t register to site). I removed BuddyPress and resolved the problem.

Would I be better of starting over and using BuddyPress first and THEN adding forum?

I’m currently using Twenty Ten Theme but not married to it.

You need to decide on a forum site or using BuddyPress and using group forums. Running both can be confusing for users
