Creating a site where I need members to be able to have the same name when registering.

    Hope someone can help me with this, I’m totally new at wordpress/ buddypress, in short… i’m a n00b!

    My problem is this:

    I want to create a website where, for example, pets are registered.
    Often pets have no last name so when a owner registers his pet, for instance a cat named alex, a second other user can’t claim this name.
    He needs to register alex1 or something like that.

    What I want is this, every member gets not the name as a permalink but a number.

    My goal is this:

    Someone registers the name alex:

    In stead of websitename.com/members/alex i would like to see: websitename.com/members/1

    Second owner registers the name alex: websitename.com/members/2

    Thirtieth owner registers the name alex: websitename.com/members/30

    I’m running Buddypress Version 1.5.5 with the plugin Allow Multiple Accounts (so more than 1 members can have only 1 emailadres)

    … i’ve found out this problem can be resolved by creating already defined acounts… these acounts are linked to new registering members.

    I’ve looked if there is a plugin for this, but haven’t found any.

    Is there a place where i can request this plugin?

    the plugin would have these features:

    – alow same name members by coupling them to predetermend/ defined acounts.
    (www.website.com/user1 … user2 … user 150 and so on)
    – alow member names to be a minimum of 3 letters/ numbers instead of 4
    (names like Ben, Ike, Jos, Tim etc)
    – alow multiple members to register under one and the same emailadres.

    who can help me get to the next step in resolving this?
