creating child theme in BP

Hi,
I am good with creating wordpress child theme but i am new to BP, i wanted to know if the way to create BP child themes is the same. I was reading the codex and i know that i have to point out to default Template of BP instead of TwentyTen which i use as a parent theme. but everything else would the same as creating a wordpress child theme or is it different?

@emaarkhan if you have a WordPress theme (or a child theme thereof), install and activate the BP Template Pack plugin and go through Appearance > BP Compatibility process.
