css and js missing

Hi there again,
installed bp 1.7. very basic, no individual theme templates or anything.
the result: buddypress.css and buddypress.js(? or whatever the name of the bp-js is) isn’t loading in my theme.
What reasons could that have? Anything special needed in the header.php?

Switch to twentytwelve theme, does BP work correctly in theme compat mode, if so you have an issue with your theme but more information would be required in order to work out what that issue might be.

well it works in twenty twelve. For an unknown reason my theme isnt loading the css:
