Custom Group Single Template

I followed the codex instructions to create a custom group single template (/buddypress/groups/single/index-slug-{slug}.php). It’s recognizing the template which I copied from the home.php. However, it’s not loading the theme header, footer, etc. Ive tested with the Twenty 15 theme and our theme and get the same results. Can someone tell me why it’s not loading the theme template parts?

    Thanks

OK, I guess I needed to copy the home.php into a page template. I knew it wasn’t going to be that easy. 😛

You have to have the complete template in WP terms i.e header and footer if you create thse types og custom BP templates.

Thanks. That’s what I figured out after I posted this. I thought you just needed to rename the template part and it would load the other parts like the default one does.
